JUST A COCKTAIL PAGE
Let’s get to the list...
1. Missionary Downfall
I had never even heard of this incredible cocktail until I moved to Alabama. This particular recipe was from a local neighbor down at Dauphin Island. It is the perfect blend of sweet and sour. On a how fast I drink this scale, the Missionary Downfall gets a 9. (Photo by Tommy Ilmagno)
Makes 4-6 cocktails:
-1 cup of vodka
-1 can of frozen lime concentrate
-1 handful of mint
-1 1/2 cups of ice
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Top with mint leaf garnish.
2. Ranch Water
Ahhh, the famous drink of the summer of 2020. If you are a tequila fan, you have got to try this. It’s not sweet and so refreshing. For myself, tequila plus sugar equals a hefty hangover, so this cocktail is a win, win. Heavy warning, she gets a 10 on my how fast I drink this cocktail scale, so drink in groups. You’ve been warned. (Photo by @blueandweil)
Makes 1 cocktail:
-2 oz. of tequila
-4 oz. of Topo Chico
-juice of 1 lime (or 2 key limes)
3. Melon + Cucumber Margarita
For this recipe, I used some over ripe cantaloupe and cucumbers from the garden. Like that OutKast song, “So Fresh, and So Clean.” But, in a cocktail.
Muddle cantaloupe and cucumber for 2 oz. of juice, discard the rest.
2 oz. Tequila (I used the Two Seed’s cucumber and jalapeño)
1 oz. Triple Sec
3/4 oz. Agave Syrup
2 oz. Lime juice
1 egg white (do not skip this!)
Shakity, shake, shake!
